FinXL is seeking a UX Interaction Designer to work with a federal government client on a high-impact digital transformation project. This role involves designing, testing, and evaluating user interactions for digital services, ensuring accessibility, usability, and stakeholder alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply evidence-based, user-centred design (UX) methodologies to improve stakeholder and user experiences.
• Conduct and participate in user research, translating findings into design solutions.
• Develop user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design assets for usability testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver accessible and intuitive digital solutions.
• Manage and facilitate design workshops and discussions with stakeholders.
• Contribute to and ensure adherence to UI design frameworks, branding, and governance standards.
• Lead and mentor team members in interaction design best practices.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Strong expertise in UX design, user research, and service design methodologies.
• Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
• Knowledge of accessibility (WCAG), usability testing, and UX evaluation techniques.
• Ability to develop and implement design patterns, frameworks, and governance models.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate design concepts effectively.
• Previous experience in government digital services or large enterprise UX projects is beneficial.
• Must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance.

Work Arrangement & Location:

• Role is based in Canberra (ACT), Adelaide (SA), or Melbourne (VIC).
• Hybrid flexibility (minimum three days in-office per week).
