Job description
FinXL IT are seeking a skilled Solution Designer to join our dynamic team at a large financial services organisation. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-level solution designs for business-critical applications. Working closely with technology and business stakeholders, you'll transform business vision into actionable and optimal solutions. Responsibilities
- Drive and explore creative solutions to achieve optimal results for business-critical applications.
- Take ownership of high-level solution designs, adhering to architectural principles and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams to translate business and architectural requirements into actionable solution designs.
- Ensure alignment and effective communication across teams (architects, business analysts, project managers) for seamless solution delivery.
- Create clear, concise, and well-documented design documents, sequence diagrams, and technical specifications that are understandable by application designers and developers.
- Support the business in providing high-level estimates for feature delivery.
- Offer expert technical guidance and support to development teams, overseeing the low-level design, build, and testing phases.
Requirements
Essential:
- Strong experience in software solution delivery, with a strong focus on designing and implementing technical solutions.
- Proven experience as a Solution Designer, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong hands-on experience in developing Java-based microservices, Restful APIs, and eventing using Kafka or MQ.
- In-depth knowledge of design patterns, including authentication and authorisation patterns.
- Extensive understanding of system design, development, and technical problem-solving techniques.
Desirable:
- Experience with retail banking product origination (preferably Cards or Personal Loans) and servicing
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Bamboo).
- Previous experience within the Financial Services industry.
- Cloud skills (AWS, Azure, GCP) are a plus.
