ODI Consultant | Data Integration Engineer

Location: Sydney (Onsite/Hybrid)
Focus: Oracle ODI 11g to 12c Migration, ETL, and Data Integration

About the Role

FinXL is looking to hire an experienced ODI Consultant / Data Integration Engineer to be deployed with a leading banking and financial services client. This critical role focuses on supporting a complex Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 11g to 12c migration involving hands-on ETL development, defect resolution, and schema management to ensure system performance and data integrity.

The project is currently facing technical challenges and resource gaps, requiring a highly skilled ODI expert to optimise, migrate, and troubleshoot data integration workloads effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the migration from ODI 11g to ODI 12c, ensuring minimal disruption.

• Set up prerequisites and control scripts for a smooth transition.

• Integrate with the new cloud environment, ensuring compatibility and performance.

• Resolve system defects, working closely with SMEs, DBAs, and testing teams.

• Perform data validation, query tuning, and ETL performance optimisation.

• Manage schema-based tables, including GDW (Global Data Warehouse) and Oracle databases.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Sydney, Melbourne, and offshore resources.

• Provide expertise in Control-M for job scheduling and automation.

• Support testers in executing scripts, validating file transfers, and reporting defects.

• Serve as the go-to SME for ODI migration, ETL processes, and Oracle data structures.

Key Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in ETL and Data Integration.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 11g & 12c - strong expertise in both is essential.

• Strong knowledge of Master & Work Repositories, Knowledge Modules (KMs), Load Plans, and execution agents.

• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, data validation, error handling, and query tuning.

• Ability to troubleshoot defects, analyse logs, and optimise ODI performance.

• Experience with Change Data Capture (CDC), GDW tables, and schema migrations.

• Familiarity with Control-M for job scheduling and ETL process automation.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of issues.

Preferred Qualifications (Highly Desirable)

• Oracle Data Integration Certified Implementation Specialist

• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Data Integration Certification
