Position Title: Network Engineer (Contractor)
Location: Melbourne, Victoria (Client Site)
Job Type: 6-Month Contract

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract. The primary focus of this role will be to perform network migrations and provide operational support for our client. The successful candidate will work closely with the client's staff and engineers, playing a key role in migrating to a direct secure Internet solution. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • School Migration Assistance:

    • Work closely with school staff, Telstra Managed WAN engineers, and project managers to ensure smooth migrations.
    • Conduct migration activities to transition schools to the Zscaler solution, including pre/post testing of critical apps and failover testing.
    • Collaborate with Telstra Managed WAN engineers to upgrade the site's WAN services.
  • BAU/Operations:

    • Client Ticket Management: Proactively monitor and manage client ticket queues for Zscaler and WAN faults, as well as service requests, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
    • Policy Management: Apply changes to Zscaler policies and create new policies as needed, ensuring effective implementation.
    • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve Zscaler and WAN-related issues to maintain network performance and reliability.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Cisco networking (routing and switching).
    • Familiarity with Zscaler technologies and implementation.
    • Experience with SD-WAN, particularly Cisco solutions, is desirable.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to guide school staff through the migration process.
    • Strong technical troubleshooting expertise to ensure accurate network migration and policy updates.
    • Ability to manage tasks independently, ensuring smooth execution of migrations and troubleshooting.

Availability:

  • Must be available to work from the client's Melbourne-based site a minimum of 2 days a week.
