Senior Database Developer

The opportunity to join our team:

As a Senior Database Developer you will play a crucial role in designing, coding, testing, and delivering software solutions that contribute to our clients market-leading platform. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, efficiency, and integrity of our databases, engaging directly with the business to understand the significance of data issues, and delivering both project and BAU (Business-As-Usual) work. This position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work collaboratively in a small, dynamic team environment.

Key Responsibilities For This Role Include:

  • Designing and building databases, ensuring stability and efficiency
  • Developing program views, functions, and stored procedures
  • Writing optimized SQL queries for seamless integration with applications
  • Creating and maintaining database tables and dictionaries
  • Developing scripts, procedures, and triggers to support application development
  • Ensuring data quality, overseeing backups, and managing database security

Role:

We are looking for a team player with a strong technical ability and drive for continuous improvement. To be successful in this role you'll be:

  • Self-managing and self-driven, capable of taking ownership of projects and delivering outcomes independently
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and engage directly with business stakeholders
  • Familiarity with both on-premises and AWS cloud environments
  • Experience with SQL Server/T-SQL programming, including the creation and optimization of stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (up to 2019) and Oracle database development
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL skills with the ability to develop efficient queries of varying complexity
  • Hands-on experience with end-to-end ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
  • Curiosity and openness to learning new technologies and approaches
