Informix DBA - Federal Government Client | Contract Role

Location: Sydney (Onsite)
Term: 6 weeks (potential for further extensions)
Security Clearance: Baseline, NV1, or NV2 required

About the Role

FinXL is seeking an experienced Informix Database Administrator (DBA) to support a federal government client. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing Informix databases in a high-availability environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for 24+ production and non-production Informix databases
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including mirroring/replication problems
• Monitor backups, log files, and disk space, ensuring optimal performance
• Fix issues flagged by automated monitoring alerts
• Respond to incident tickets and provide after-hours emergency support when required

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience managing Informix databases in production environments
• Expertise in Informix RSS instances and Informix v11+
• Proficiency in shell scripting and cron job management
• Strong troubleshooting and database performance optimization skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment
